It is a consortium project which has been implemented by Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK), BARCIK, CUP, and InSights under USAID and FCDO funded Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) Activity implemented by Counterpart International.
USAID funded Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) Activity implemented by Counterpart International (CPI) with the help of DSK consortium (DSK, inSights, CUP, BRACIK) is working to make civil society organizations accountable for democratic governance and increasing civic participation. The project will ensure a more participatory, sustainable and authentic information-driven civil society in Bangladesh. The participant will have acquired skills, technological knowledge, enough resources, and communication by the end of the project. As a result, their capacity will be enhanced on the basis of facilitation with the Government of Bangladesh in establishing a transparent and responsible society.
DSK started its journey informally in the mid-1980s with the aim of providing socio-economic benefits and primary health care to the poor slum dwellers, especially women, through the “Niramoy Mukta Friday Clinic” in Begunbari and Nabisco slums in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Later, DSK officially started its journey in 1989 when its activities spread to towns and villages. DSK is currently implementing Primary Health Care, Revolving Lending and Savings Program, Water and Sewerage (WATSAN activities), Education Activities, Hospitals, Training, Disaster Relief Activities, Human Rights for Minority Indigenous Women, Rural Bio-Gas Centers, Human Trafficking Shut-down and Prevention Activities in city and village levels.

Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge, BARCIK is a non-governmental non-profit development organization. At first BARCIK was established as Integrated Action Research and Development (IARD) in 1997. The main areas of Barsik’s work are environment and sustainable development. The main purpose of Barsik’s work is to integrate and consider contemporary development initiatives through research and publication documentation. BARCIK is registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office, Government of Bangladesh, to operate foreign funds. Since 2001, BARCIK has been working with the help of Mijario to ensure the empowerment of local and indigenous people.
Coalition for the Urban Poor (CUP) is an advocacy and networking organization of private national and international development organizations working to improve the living standards of the urban poor in Bangladesh. The Cup has been implementing advocacy activities for the empowerment of the urban poor since 1989. CUP has completed its registration from NGO bureau on 4th April, 2000.
